God

I have not always been a big believer in God. When I was growing up we never attended church regularly or talked about faith at home. But as an adult I started to long for something I didn't know to put in words. I wanted something to give me a sense of direction. When my daughter was young that need grew and I started to look for a place where these feelings, discussions and urges was accepted. I found a church were I felt welcomed, not just by God but also by a congregation. To me, that was a big step, something that didn't just happen but something I had to look for. Now, that has become a need. When I don't go to church for a period of time I really miss it. I need to speak about God, I need to hear His words and I need to discuss what He wants me to do. Now, I am a believer.

The most precious gift

Today in church I was once again reminded of how precious life is and what a blessing from God our children are. After service I had coffee with some of my friends. Their young child was there with us. All of the sudden she curled up against her father and both parents rushed her outside. I went to check up on them, to see if they needed any help. The parents explained that their child sometimes have fever cramps and that was what just happened. As the word got around people with medical knowledge (a doctor and nurse) went to check up on the young family. The child recovered and is now safely home with the family but it made me think of how blessed we are to have our little ones around. Today as I go about my day I say a special prayer. I thank the Lord for my little one. I thank him for this young child and for her parents who acted so fast, so strong and so calm to there childs need. I thank Him for everything going well and the fact that we in church have the privilege to have so ma

Purpose

The purpose of this blogg is for me to learn writing in English on my blogg and also to learn how to manege diffrent solotions, like making cool/pretty/interesting posts and to improve my over all blogging. I'm still not sure what I will be writing about here, but a guess is books, children and faith. Since a move from Sweden to USA is something that might be happening ahead, that will most likely be one of the topics that will be on here. The reason I am about to move is to join my boyfriend who is living in sunny Florida all by himself and since we are making plans for a future together that means that one of us has to move.

Reading the bible with children

As a more recent believer I am working on reading the bible. It's not something that just happens, but I want to do it, both for myself and in wanting to lead a good example for my child. When she sees me reading the book, it opens up for more discussions about faith and talk about what we believe. I am so curious to hear more of her believes. She has so many smart and interesting ideas and I am learning so much from her. So when do you make time for Bible talk? Do you have a specific time of the day or week for that? We have just recently started to make the time for that and it is so interesting to hear all of the childrens reflections and thoughts on what is going on. Another thing I am thinking about is on how to properly talk about all of the difficult passages in the Bible. There are so many things that is difficult (like people killing eachother) that I certainly don't think she is ready for. At the moment we are skipping those parts and focus our attention onto the t
